• appellant- a person who appeals the case that was once unsuccessful
• claimant- a person who brings legal proceedings/ claims
• defendant- a person who is sued because he has done something wrong
• bench- another word to describe magistrate or judges in court
• hearing- saying about a case in court
• order- is a formal court document that says about court's final decision

NEWS and why LAW?

• this man is named Al- Megrahi
• born 1/4/1952
• he was frormer INTELLIGENCE OFFICER, HEAD OF SECUTITY FOR LIBYAN ARAB AIRLINES, DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRE FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES IN TRIPOL- capital of Libya
• what happened? he was convicted and imprisoned for life in Greeriock prison in Scotland
• why? he was found guilty by scottish judges for the bombing of  PAN AM FLIGHT 103 at LOCKERBIE- a town in scotland which caused 270 murder
• then? in 08/2009 he was released from prison on COMPASSIONATE grounds as he was diagonsed with TERMINAL PROSTATE CANCER the fact that would kill him in 3 MONTHS or a bit longer.
• WHY HIM on this blog?

1. the daily mail today reports he is very very ill he is unconscious, kept in life machine,
2. aslo it reports the FAMILY is likely to raise a COMPENSATION claim against Scottish Gvt-his suffering and loss of chance to life as a result of being in prison.

•  Constitutional and Administrative Law
• Criminal Law

on additional to that there will be various OPTIONAL subjects you must learn.. The list is massive so check with your university what they offer to their students
 note; there are some colleges and Universities which do not inform their students on the above POINTS by word of mouth and most of students who are  shy to communicate and  new starters hate reading welcome package that contains such crucial information so they end up not knowing untill somewhere in May where universities get summer holiday AND THAT IS TOO LATE
so be INFORMED & WISE  in your selection- think who you want to be and what you must achieve to be that. GOODLUCK!
